Magnus Robot Fighter #5
Cory Smith, Joseph Cooper, Mauricio Wallace, Fred Van Lente
This book has been a really nice surprise. I have only read a few odd issues of any previous Magnus series (all from the 90’s Valiant stuff), so I wasn’t at all sure what this was going to be like. I love the high octane action scenes that pop up among the philosophical musings about the societal roles of humanity in an AI world. Fred Van Lente has been known to let his comedic side add a bent to his work, but that is not what this book is. It’s emotional, and deep, and touches on ethics and the questions of what sentience is. I wasn’t expecting this, and I’m so glad I took the plunge.
comiXology Summer Reading List Day 2: Magnus Robot Fighter #1
Hope you all enjoyed the first free comic we gave away yesterday! Today’s comic is a great one (by fredvanlente and csmithart) that’s flying a bit under the radar right now, but definitely deserves a read as it’s only 3 issues in and is already proving to be full of personality and excitement.
In the blink of an eye, young martial artist Magnus has everything taken from him…his father, his wife, his entire life. He’s suddenly thrust into a futuristic world he doesn’t understand, populated by humans and robots living together in oppression!
